Richard Hinds served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and achieved the rank of SP5 or Specialist First Class / E-5. During that time, he earned and was awarded a Bronze Star. The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to members of the U.S. armed forces for heroic or meritorious service / achievement. Richard is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
