John Anthony Balestreri, age 77, of Maryland Heights, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born December 28, 1945, to the late Anthony and Esther Balestreri.
John leaves behind his dear wife of fifty-four years, Linda (nee Raymond), his sons; Anthony (Monica) and Jason (Stephanie) Balestreri, his grandchildren; Michael, Lucas, and Kaylin. John also is survived by his siblings; Linda Balestreri, Toni Ann Groves, Thomas Balestreri, Timothy Balestreri, and Donna Drackert. He will be missed by his sweet grand-dogs, Max and Finley.
One of John’s greatest sources of pride was his 1975 Monte Carlo, and his Chevy SSR truck. He was a master of tinkering with these classic vehicles. His love for cars extended beyond his own collection. He relished in attending car shows, where he could share stories and knowledge with other enthusiast. John was a man with many interests and talents, but his true joys were found in the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed caring for his yard and being outdoors. Collecting was another of John’s cherished hobbies. He had an impressive collection of baseball cards and coins. Treasures that will be passed down through generations. John was also devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and through the years proudly cheered on his hometown team.
John was a beloved husband, father, and an adoring grandfather to his cherished grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Alexander - White - Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. A funeral service will occur at 12:00 PM, at the same location. John will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St Charles Rock Rd, Saint Ann, MO 63074.

I ran into John at several classic car shows and classic car auctions. We alway talked about the old cars and the good ol' days. I am sure he will be missed by many.

Oh so sad. I've forgotten many of my classmates but could never forget John. He was the "Danny" from Grease. John Travolta for sure. A little rebel. A little wild. Certainly a car lover.
