Barbara Ott (Zimmermann)

Tom was a terrific piano player. He played by ear and could play any song after hearing it once. I remember Mrs. Weiss letting him play during music class for entertainment.

Tom passed away Sept. 14, 2007 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He had lived with his parents the last couple of years in Wright City, Mo. He was born Nov. 22, 1946.
He worked for Missouri Envelope and serving the US Army during the Viewnam War. He has one daughter Robin L. Pershall of Farmingon Ark. and three grandchildren. Both his mom and dad died before him. He is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Pagedale.
This information was taken from his obit.
May Tom continue to play the piano so beautifuly in heaven. RIP

I was sorry to see Tommy's name among those classmates of ours who have gone on before us. I have thought about him many times over the years, wondering if he was able to have a musical career--he certainly should have!

Back in '62, a small group of band members hooked up to start a jazz band at Pattonville. I was the pianist (which was a joke, really--I was fine playing for the h.s. musical productions, but I was NOT a jazz musician). Then along came Tommy . . . and the rest is history. I competed against him in a couple of h.s. talent shows, but NO ONE had a prayer competing against Tommy. What a talent he had!

I would like to know more about his life if anyone knows anything.
